A popular mobile radio host was laid to rest today. Ray Ray Russell passed away April 17th of congestive heart failure. Saturday hundreds of people crowded into the Word of Life Community Church in Chickasaw to pay their respects. The former voice of WBLX Radio spent nearly a decade entertaining Mobile audiences on their ride to work. Family and friends held a "celebration" service because they say Russell touched so many people.“He was just a wonderful person, inspiring person, religiously comedian type person, somebody that would inspire you every time you woke up, make you happy you were alive to be here,” says friend James Perin. Russell left radio in 2006. He went on to manage his nephew, Oakland Raiders quarterback Jamarcus Russell.
