A local attorney wanted in Texas on sex charges is out of jail.

Kent Baxley was released on $30,000 bond and has until Friday to turn himself into Deer Park Police, near Houston.

Mobile police arrested Baxley Monday on a fugitive warrant for indecency with a child. Deer Park police say Baxley, who is also a former FBI agent, fondled a nine-year-old female relative in November 2004.

Lieutenant Wade Conner with Deer Park Police says there is nothing unusual about allowing Baxley to drive himself to Texas to surrender, even though he was wanted on a fugitive warrant. Conner says if Baxley doesn’t show up for court on Friday, then the bond company will go after him.

I forgot that he was FBI.  He probably cleaned out his bank account, shaved his head and is in Mexico City with the flu right now.

bob ,this guy is ex-FBI. think like that and look for something he over looked. he didn’t just up and run. he is trying for a clean break

If I was a bounty hunter, I think I would look for his car at the airport in New Orleans.

I wonder if anyone checked his bank accounts after they let him loose.

they will wait for him to go to the gun club before they go see him

Wow!  Hope he doesn’t flip out and go on a rampage.  Seems to be a trend these days.

From what was reported, it sounded like a somewhat weak case from a legal standpoint.  He kind of cemented his fate, if he chose to run instead of facing this head on.

Bamabob,

We checked this afternoon. He’s still a no show in Texas.

Did this guy ever show up in Texas?

yeah, this sounds fishy.  Makes you wonder- does it not of how easy it is to ruin someones life by making such accusations.  If found guilty, then yes, should be punished but to be arrested for something like this in any profession ruins all credibility.  Have seen many cases like this turn out to be lies over vendettas usually over money or to give a parent a snese of security in a custody situation…just have the kids convinced they were maltreated in some way…and usually turns out to be lies and unfounded.  Bad situation for all involved.  Also a pedophile does not stop at one ya know what I mean so yeah, sounds like a farce to me.  Just hope he has more sense than to hire that joke Cowboy or his sidekick,  to represent him.  Am sure he does.

The news should not report on cases like this until the suspect is declared guilty. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty and now Mr. Baxley is considered a pedophile. This is not right! Why ruin a person’s reputation when it is not even certain that the charges are true! That’s libel and slander!

And shame on Coach Mo and the Mobile Soccer Club to not support Mr. Kent in this situation. It only makes it worse! He’s still considered innocent! No moves should be made until there is a charge stating he’s guilty or innocent. Mr. Baxley is a respectful member of this society and his reputation is now ruined thanks to the news and the constant fear from individuals about pedophiles. Shame on the media. I am sure there is more important CONFIRMED news instead of defaming an important member of our society and hurting his family. Shame on the media.
