Keep in mind, it happens to Men too, only we’re not as fortunate to be exposed to the resources that help us.
something that you can do to help others and there is always someone that is worse off than you. Like you stated just donating something that you would usually just throw away could help someone in need. To me giving your time and help to the community and people in need is worth just as much if not more than any amount of money you can give. Although this women lost her life to violence I hope this gives other women and men the strength to leave a violent relationship. There are support groups within our community to help individuals in these situations. My prayers are with the family and friends of this woman and although I can not give much I hope that what I can give will help this cause out. I would also like to remind people about the donations that are being taken for the family of Officer Sigler that was shot and killed last Tuesday night. My prayers are with his family as well.
I agree southfan, my husband and I do not have a lot of money and we are pretty much living from paycheck to paycheck right now, but when I see a donation group on the side of the road or in front of a store that needs the money much more than I do I always try to give them something, whether it is just a handful of change. There have been so many people that have helped my husband and I after his wreck that put him out of work for awhile, it happened right after I had my daughter and she was only 2 months old. Our parents took us in and friends and family were there at the drop of a hat no questions asked. Also when I was pregnant people my husband worked with that did not really know us that well were giving us baby clothes, formula, diapers and everything that you could possibly need for the baby. People were so generous because of the fact that my husband is always there to help others not expecting anything in return. I know that economic times are bad but there is always ......
This woman was brave enough to know it was time, faced an open door and walked away. Hopefully, in this time of economic stress that further pushes volatile people, we will reach into our pockets and give. If you are not able to give cash, consider offering your time or resale items to the Penelope House.
