Mobile, Alabama - Lace up your skates for this next Free Friday goodie!
October is National Roller Skating Month.
Rod Roberson, manager of Skateland of Mobile says every Friday this month, he's offering his own Free Friday special.
"On Friday nights, anybody that has their own skates, we let them in for free. We know the economy is a little tight right now and we're trying to give back to our community so that's our Free Friday night skate", says Roberson.
Skateland of Mobile is located on Shelton Beach Road.
By the way, President Ronald Reagan declared October National Roller Skating month in 1983.
It's to remind families of the fitness and fun the sport offers.

Pet lovers, here's something special for you and man's best friend!
Saraland First Assembly is sponsoring "Pets in the Park". Admission is free!.
It's at Amelia Park in Saraland, Saturday October 3rd from ten to one.
Activities include weenie dog races, diving for dogs, paw painting, contests and pictures with your pets.




Robertsdale will be buzzing this weekend with fun.
The 20th Annual Honeybee Festival is this weekend.
It will be held on Saturday at Honeybee Park.
A parade will go through downtown starting at ten.
Baldwin County Beekeepers will be on hand showing off some of their bees and products.
They will be showing the importance of bees in Baldwin County.


Just in time for fall weather is the return of Market in the Square in Mobile.
It's a chance for farmers, bakers and crafters to show off their goodies around Cathedral Square.
There's always live music played on the green.
The market runs from eight in the morning until noon.
Market on the Square runs every Saturday until November 21st.


The Mobile County Health Department is offering free clinical breast exams for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The exams will be from 9 am to 2 every Saturday of October.
October 3rd exams will be at The Smmes Clinic, October 10th at The Citronnelle Clinic, October 17th at the downtown clinic on North Bayou Street, and The Eight Mile Clinic October 24th.
Nurse practictioners will conduct the exams for women 40 and older, and for women under 40 who are having breast problems.
