Looking for free school uniforms and supplies this year?
The group "All God's Children" is once again planning to give away uniforms and school supplies.
The event will take place August 7 at the Semmes Community Center.
In the meantime, though, group members are looking for donations to help the needy.
Some people who have been donors in the past may find themselves being on the receiving end this year.
Sonya Humphries with All God's Children said, "Last year, the line went all the way around the building and it started at 5 in the morning, and this place was full of uniforms, deodorant, toothbrushes, and it was all gone in 29 minutes."
Linda Howard of Semmes made a donation this year, but she may also be on the receiving end.
She says her husband was just laid off.
Howard said. "I might have to grab some kind of supplies, maybe a notebook or two, maybe pencils, but I want to try to give more than I'm receiving."
If you would like to donate, go to the "All God's Children" website at http://www.agc-newbeginnings.org/, or you can call 251-209-9163.
Group members will even pick up the clothes and supplies.
