Mobile County Health Department offering free prostate cancer screenings
The Mobile County Health Department is offering free prostate cancer screenings through Friday, July 31, at the following locations:
Adult Clinic, 251 N. Bayou St.
Calcedeaver Clinic, 1080 AA reservation Rd.
Citronelle Clinic, 19250 N. Mobile St.
Semmes Clinic (La Clínica de Semmes), 3810 Wulff Rd. E.
Mt. Vernon Clinic, 19180 Shepard Lake Rd.

According to Dr. Bert Eichold, Health Officer, prostate cancer is the No. 2 cause of cancer death in men but is one of the most treatable if caught in the early stages.
“In fact, the 10-year survival rate for prostate cancer is 93 percent if it is detected and treated early,” he says.
Eichold also says that African-American men have a 70 percent higher rate of prostate cancer than do Caucasian men and die from prostate cancer more often than other men.
