When's the last time you checked out The Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center?
The Exploreum is celebrating its anniversary this month by hosting a FREE day on Monday October 12th. During Community Appreciation Day the general public is invited to experience permanent exhibits at no charge! There are interactive displays for all ages.
"I think it's gonna be great. The Exploreum has been in the downtown community for 11 years now this month, and we really want to thank the community for all the support they provided us over the years", says Hela Sheth, Exploreum Spokeswoman.
In addition to Free Admission for Community Appreciation Day, The Exploreum is also offering discounts during the entire month of October.

Why not take a trip back in time?
This weekend is The Munson Community Heritage Festival.
The event held every October is a two day celebration and re-creation of old time ways of life in the deep south.
You'll enjoy exhibits, living history demonstrations, plus bluegrass and gospel music.
There's no cost for admission nor parking.
Just head to the Krul Recreation Area of The Blackwater River State Forest.

You can re-live history in Bon Secour this weekend too.
Saturday is Bon Secour History Day.
Live demonstrations by re-enactors will be held throughout the day on the grounds of the Swift-Coles Historic Home.
Re-enactors will show the Union capture of the Salt Works at Bon Secour, the life of women on the home front during the Civil War, plus The Fort Morgan cannon will be fired every hour.
Families are also invited to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds.

If you're looking for a little canine entertainment, The Baldwin County Humane Society is hosting The Second Annual Cove Dog Olympics tomorrow at Pirate's Cove Yacht Club in Josephine.
You can see which dogs swim the fastest, retrieve the quickest, and eat a burger the fastest.
The first contest starts along the banks of Perdido Bay at eleven o'clock.

Tuesday, October 13th, The Reunion Band takes the stage with an eclectic mix of high-energy dance beats.

From 11 am to 3 pm, enjoy face painting, a crime prevention clown, safety booths and free refreshments. They'll even have police cruisers and an Alabama marine boat for kids to climb aboard and ride in a fire truck!! Kids can also spray a real fire hose.
Check it out at The Public Safety Building which is The Old Martha Thomas Elementary Shcool.



HIPPY provides Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters. Monday, October 12th is HIPPY Fun Day complete with HIPPY P. Potamus, Scruff McGruff The Crime Dog, a space jump and more activities from The Mobile Fire Department and The Mobile Public Library.
