MOBILE, Alabama - Better hurry, the park closes at 6 pm today, 9/26/09. You can print your own free admission pass here. Meanwhile, a lot of people were learning for free at Battleship Park. The battleship was just one of the places you could visit as part of Museum Day. The event is promoted by Smithsonian Magazine. The fifth annual event allows people to get into certain parks across the country for free with a pass from the magazine's website. Officials at the battleship say they've seen an increase in guests today.
“We've had visitors from the USS Redfin a submarine that was in service in the US Navy, they've been here, so it's been a good day for the young and old alike to learn about history not just the USS Alabama but other vessels,” says Maintenance and Exhibits man Timothy Dean.
