Mobile, AL. (Dec. 25)---West Virginia quarterback Pat White won’t be the only player returning to his roots next month for the Under Armour Senior Bowl. White’s teammate, defensive back and return specialist, Ellis Lankster will also be on the South roster for the 60th game on January 24th, bowl officials confirmed Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm (CT) in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium and the game will be televised live by the NFL Network.

Lankster, a native of Whistler, Ala. and former standout at Vigor high school, led the Mountaineers this season in punt return yardage. As a defensive back, Lankster ranks third on the team in interceptions with three and fourth in total tackles with 63. He’ll close out his collegiate career this Saturday against North Carolina in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

“It’s great to see local players go off to major colleges and have outstanding careers and establish themselves as solid NFL prospects,” Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale said. “We believe Ellis is one of the better cover and kick return prospects in this year’s draft.”

Tickets for the 2009 Under Armour Senior Bowl are currently available for purchase at the Senior Bowl ticket office (151 Dauphin Street), select Regions Bank locations, online at seniorbowl.com or by calling (251) 432-4109.
