BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Former UAB football standout Will Dunbarhas been arrested in Georgia for failing to register as a
sex-offender in Alabama.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Lt. Randy Christian, a spokesman,
said Dunbar was booked into the DeKalb County, Ga., jail on
Wednesday.
Christian said in Jan. 2008 Dunbar pleaded no contest to
aggravated sodomy and rape of a 16-year-old girl in Fulton County,
Ga., in 2004.
Authorities alleged Dunbar failed to inform the sheriff's office
when he moved from Birmingham to Georgia.
Dunbar was an All-Conference USA safety at UAB. He awaits
extradition to Alabama.
