MOBILE, Alabama - The U.S. Attorney's office announced the convictions of five people Monday afternoon. The defendants included pharmacy owners, a pharmacist and a steroids dealer. They were convicted of various drug and money laundering charges.

The trial began in federal court back in January. U.S. Attorney Kenyen Brown stated, "This verdict sends a message to medical professionals who would abdicate their responsibilities to their patients in order to profit from illegally selling drugs."

Those convicted include: Samuel Kelley, Jason Kelley, Jodi Silvio, J. Michael Bennett, and Brett Branch. The case was about a steroids conspiracy involving an online pharmacy based in Mobile.
