A family feud added unexpected fireworks to a mobile home fire in Elsanor Thursday. Firefighters were forced to put down their hoses and break up a fight in the front yard! The homeowners and their relatives were locked up in a bruising brawl that sent bodies flying and falling to the ground!
"It makes it harder on our job," says Elsanor Fire Chief Alan Paul. "We had to pull out and away from the mobile home and deal with the fight. The sheriff wasn't here so we had to break it up until they arrived."
The homeowner, William Hadley, wasn't laughing. Hadley lost everything in the blaze and doesn't have insurance.
"It's upsetting for me to lose everything," says Hadley. "Then I got them coming up here and starting stuff and fighting with us. I'm going to press charges!"
While firefighters put out hot spots, sheriff's deputies secured the scene, trying to figure out who started the fight and who was going to spend the night in jail. Deputies say arrests are likely. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
