Firefighters Batte Strip Mall Fire In Citronelle

Alabama Fire  The fire damaged three businesses at a strip mall on North Third Street (Hwy 45). The southbound lane of Hwy 45 is closed.

5:12 p.m.
- The fire destroyed Audrey's Flowers and Gifts and damaged Citronelle Cleaners and the Hair Studio.

- Firefighters say they had trouble because the businesses had a common roof.

"The building was built pre-fire code," said Mike Dees with the Citronelle Volunteer Fire Department. "So all the roof between the three offices and all is all open in which the fire spread all the way through the building from one end to another."

- The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

3:35 p.m.
- Southbound lane of Hwy 45 is closed
- Three businesses damaged: Audrey's Floral Shop, Citronelle Cleaners, Hair Studio
- Fire started at 12:41 p.m.

3:08 p.m.
Volunteers with the Citronelle Fire Department and firefighters from Mobile County EMS are battling a strip mall fire.

The strip mall is located at 19845 North Third Street (Hwy 45) in Citronelle.

News 5's Steve Alexander is on the scene. He says it looks like four businesses have been damaged, including Citronelle Cleaners and Hair Studio.

I can not believe Civilians were allowed to walk into the building at Min 6 of the You tube video.
Fire command at the time might want to review this next time. I am not trying to put down command but that could have been a big ordeal had one of the civilians been hurt in there.
