Time is almost up for Katrina victims still living in FEMA trailers.FEMA officials say tenants have until May 1, 2009 to find permanent housing.
According to FEMA nearly 6,000 people still live in trailers across the Gulf Coast. 91 trailers still stand in the City of Pascagoula.
Brian Evans and Brian Stacy occupy two of them. While Stacy has been able to rebuild, come May 1st Evans will have to fend for himself. I got less than 3 weeks to get out. And that's four years of stuff in that trailer we got to box up and move. I don't know what else to ask for,"Said Evans.
"They got money and they had the chance to build their homes and I guess they used the money for something else,"Said Stacy.
Tenants have the option of purchasing a park model or one of FEMA's larger mobile homes.
However, FEMA says they will work with tenants up to the May 1st deadline to find them permanent housing
