MOBILE, Alabama - Two Mobile charity groups teamed up today, 11/28/09, to help people in need. The Daughters of Elks Gulf City Temple #307 and the local chapter of the Knights of Peter Claver held their annual “Feed the Hungry” event. Organizers say they had enough food to feed about 250 people today. Red beans and rice, fried chicken and cornbread were on the menu. The two groups have been feeding the needy the Saturday after thanksgiving for the past 15 years.
