MOBILE, Alabama - Things are getting fresher in downtown Mobile. The fall session of Mobile's "Market on the Square" is in full swing. I stopped there after the Cancer event this morning, 10/24/09. More than 30 local vendors gather each Saturday morning. Some are local farmers, bakers and other mobile-based workers. Organizers say they continue to expand the market to appeal to broad interests.“The food is much healthier, the quicker it gets from the farm to the table and it helps to keep money in our local economy which of course in these times is really really important,” says Chris Barraza with the City of Mobile. The market continues until November 21st. Early birds get their pick of the best stuff when it opens at eight Saturday mornings.
