A Mobile County judge denied bond for Eric Odom, the Birmingham man accused of posing as a police officer to steal money from elderly victims. On February 28, police say Odom knocked on an 80-year-old woman's door, showed her a badge and asked to see any guns or currency she kept in the home.
The elderly victim showed Odom where she kept what police call a large amount of cash. Odom said he was taking it downtown so the serial numbers could be checked.
Odom and two other men are also accused of a similar crime on February 9. They stole money and a gun from an elderly woman's home in the Maysville community.
U.S. Marshals arrested Odom Monday in Birmingham.
