A Fairhope woman could face charges in connection with a crash that killed her passenger.

Florida State Troopers say Kelli Hollingsworth was driving eastbound on I-10 in heavy rain early Friday morning. Just after 1 o'clock, she lost control of her truck near the Pensacola Blvd. exit, hit a guardrail and rolled down an embankment.

Hollingsworth suffered minor injuries in the crash. Her passenger, 27-year-old Jennifer Hanna of Memphis, was pronounced dead at the scene 20 minutes later.

State Troopers say charges are pending the outcome of their investigation.

Why are charges even being considered?

I was there. She was not drunk, she did not kill her friend, and she does not deserve a since ounce of punishment. The rain was terrible and she lost control, and there wasn’t a damn thing she could have done to stop it. No one is planning to file charges, it’s all a formality - and a shining example of our culture’s need to sensationalize tragedy.

These girls are part of Memphis women’s rugby team. She lost a teammate as well as a friend. I pray for both girls, Hanna’s family, and the Memphis women’s rugby team.

I think having to live the rest of her life, knowing that she killed her friend is punishment enough.

greedy prosecutors trying to get money again. doesnt say if she was drunk. if it was due to weather, then why is she being charged?? its stupid in my eyes, unless she has been drinking.
