MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The state Supreme Court has set anexecution date of June 11 for death row inmate Jack Trawick.
Trawick was sentenced to die for the 1992 abduction and slaying of
21-year of Stephanie Gach of Birmingham.
Gach was stabbed and beaten with a hammer. Trawick was sentenced to death in 1994 for
capital murder. Trawick was also convicted in 1995 of killing 27-year-old Aileen Pruitt of Birmingham.
The victim's mother, Mary Gach, says she has spent more than 16
years waiting for a conclusion to the case. But she says she will
still cry for her daughter every day.
Trawick has gained notoriety in recent years because the
Internet has displayed his sexually graphic writings and drawings
about his crimes. Trawick's work was still being displayed Thursday
when the state Supreme Court set his execution date.
