A Mobile elementary school is proving that every penny counts.Little Flower Catholic School has been on a mission to collect a million pennies since last June.
The coin collection is part of their "Pennies from Heaven" project.
The proceeds will help pay tuition for those less fortunate so they can attend Little Flower.
Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union let the school use their coin counter for free.
Father John Lynes says they couldn't have done it without the community's support.
'We have had the people bring them in every week, the kids bring them in. Some of the local establishments around the Loop area, some of the restaurants and bars have put them on their counter and collected the pennies,"Said Lynes.
The school didn't quite reach their goal of a million pennies, but they did raise a whopping $5,100, which is over half a million pennies.
