We've shown you the electronic moon pie. Now, check out its appetizer!

The 55-pound edible moon pie is the world's largest and was donated by the Chattanooga Bakery in Tennessee. The pie will feed 300 people and is about four feet in diameter.

It's made with six pounds of chocolate icing, 14 pounds of marshmallows and the entire thing is a whopping 45-thousand calories!

Tory Johnston says the donation is good publicity for them! "We are not charging you for the moon pies or anything. It's all free. It will cost us about 10,000 dollars to make that moon pie. There's such a great history between our city and Mardi Gras and moon pie. We thought this is great for us and hopefully great for the city. So yeah we drove it down and no charge."

It took the bakery six hours to prepare the monstrous moon pie!

disvet they did the same to me when i said they needed to investigate where all that money went. because it sure didnt go to that moon pie!

I have noticed everytime I comment on that crook Fred, My comments get deleted.  If he can afford to buy NEWS 5, then he has ripped off alot more that the $9000 for a stupid moonpie..  I have merely mentioned over and over how the teachers cannot afford to be paid, yet we can have a moonpie.  Lets see how long it takes for Fred to get this deleted!!!!

W T F ?? He looked like a giant tick landed on his head ,LOLOLOLOL

Where o where can I go for New Year’s Eve?? Hmmmmmmm.. A big ol moonpie doesnt sound like too much fun.. Not worth the three hour drive..

“This event will not only kick off our Carnival season, but we believe it will become the premier event for the Central Time Zone, creating a tremendous economic impact for our city,” said Mobile Councilman Fred Richardson, who came up with the MoonPie concept for Mobile.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

$9000.00 for a dumb looking moon pie..you have got to be kidding me!!!! It seems someone is lining their own pockets and wanting to be on the national news. Does this FRED guy know how stupid that hat looks he is wearing, and how silly he sounds talking about the millions of dollars he is seeing mobile make off HIS suggestion of that ugly pie… Just imagine what all that money could have given the families for Christmas and food for their tables. Fred we are in a bad recession what the heck is wrong with you! Oh thats right the limelight for you duhhhhhhh I almost forgot. The Angel Tree could have been bought for all that money and no child would have to suffer. Oh yes lets see the moon pie is rising not dropping and shouldn’t it have 2009 on it for midnight? It will no longer be 2008 at midnight. Sure there will be lots of people show up tonight and that will say they are as smart as FRED!!!!

It is going to be hard to sneak a 12 foot diameter pie down to the river.  Standing up it will take out some old water oaks.  Lying down it will take up two lanes and need an escort and follow vehicle.

Btw, is there an easy way to reply to a private message?  That whole PM thing is kind of hard to work with.

So far this morning I have not seen a single person wearing a moonpie hat.  Could that have something to do with sobriety?

Where Oh Where is the PIE???

That thing has got to be on the move today in order for it to get to the river in time for MoonPie Madness!!!!!!!!!

$10,000!  If I were a constituant,  I would be demanding an investigation.
