MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Debate on a bill to legalize electronicShort URL: http://wkrg.com/a/11325/
bingo games at greyhound racetracks in Birmingham and Mobile has been delayed - apparently because the sponsor did not
have enough votes.
Rep. Marcel Black of Tuscumbia said he pulled the proposed
constitutional amendment from consideration Tuesday because he did
not believe he had the 63 votes required to pass it in the House.
Tax revenue from the bingo games would go to Alabama's
cash-strapped Medicaid Agency under the bill.
Black said he may bring the bill back up for debate after the
Legislature takes next week off for spring break.
