Hello, everyone. I just think that this was not the best decision, but I have dealt with people this age. They don’t always make the best decision…if we aren’t dead, we will alll be there…pretty soon, baby boomers! There’s is a lot more bad in the world than someone that can’t make it to the bathroom. Granted, it’s not the best sceanario, but it may have been the best Lula May could have done. I DO RESPECT ALL SIDES OF THIS ARGUMENT. God bless her, I think this was more than she could take. Would you want your Mama to go through this? My little Mama, who weighs less than 100 lbs, has done way worse than urinate! Should I not see about her?
God Bless All of You…I know there are different sides, but what would you do if you couldn’t get to the bathroom? You know, no one wants to be humiliated. Find your heart.

Wishing??? me as well. she has nothing to be ashamed of. glad the old gal is getting out about. hope the Judge can find her some help with the right people that will get her some Depends and /or medical help. life is short people look for the good and lead by example

I’m actually not upset as a lawyer, using a black-and-white analysis.  The story’s just tugging at my humanity.

Andy Does what he thinks is best at the time and we see it on TV. We don’t know. We were not there. so it is up to the Judge. the Cop was not out side of his job. she was outside of the Law. this is why we have courts. seems to be working. What the problem is??

Andy would have blushed, turned his head, given her a towel, and said something like, “Now Lula Mae, you know you can’t be doing this in public.  You go on home now and get yourself changed.”

thank you Atticus Finch, Barney Fife might just as well be out there but we all know Barney means well. thank the good Lord Andy is the Judge. you guys are crying to much over a little spilled water. just like the guy that got into Gods House for a meal and a nap, i think the Judge can get this old Lady in touch with the people who can help her with her problem.

Have we established yet that she actually pulled out her “goodies?”  You guys keep going back to that.  Did she fully expose anything that should be kept private?  If she had on a dress or a long shirt, this could have been done without really showing anything.

As a lawyer, I can tell you that the cops generally have at least a little bit of discretion as to whether or not to make an arrest/issue a citation.  Ever gotten off with a warning instead of getting a ticket?  I bet you wouldn’t give the cop a lecture about how it wasn’t fair to let you go.  Do we really want cops chasing down every jaywalker? 

I think the difference is with intent.  A lot of guys intentionally go and pee in the bushes because they’re too lazy to find a bathroom (which is hard to do downtown).  It sounds to me like she had absolutely NO intention of peeing in public, but it just started coming out.  She was literally trying to make it to the bathroom, and was apologetic and embarrassed when she didn’t make it. 

Although I deeply respect, admire, and appreciate police, I’ve made a couple comments on here about things the police have done that I think were wrong.  Each time, I was attacked!  It seems like some of you think that if you support the police, you can not be permitted to question anything they do.  This is a dangerous attitude.  We pay their salaries, and it’s ok for us to speak up when we don’t like the way things are handled.  Why is it so threatening?

I can assure you cd-MPD and MCSO IS doing the BIGGER jobs-it just isn’t getting the media attention that the potty stories do. Why would that be?

And basically,they were “forced” to look when she went right under THEIR window! Can’t miss that!~

Surely though special ed teacher-you wouldn’t encourage your mother to squat in the Wal-mart parking lot, would you? Surely you would make sure she has DEPENDS or Detrol LA if you KNOW she has a problem. It would be one thing if she wet herself THROUGH her clothes,but for it to be a LEWD act,she had to expose some goods. I can’t get over the folks blaming the POLICE for enforcing a LAW,instead of blaming the media for making this headline news. If you don’t like the laws, get them changed-like I have said before. But don’t complain when your sensitivities are offended when people are pulling stuff out EVERYWHERE.
