As for the home owner, nice shot.  I don’t care if the intruder’s only crimes had been Jaywalking and spitting on the sidewalk.  If he were in my house that late at night, with a ski mask and a gun, I would have shot him too.  What exactly do you think he was planning on doing there?  Making them crumpets and tea?  He came dressed and prepared to commit a violent crime and not get caught.  Kudos to the home owner for stopping him, and getting one more loser dirtbag off the street.  I don’t have a lot of sympathy for the dead guy, as HE is the one that put himself in that position.  If you don’t want to be killed like that, don’t break into other people’s homes late at night.  It really isn’t that hard…

CONCERNED. Interesting info. There is always another side. Again, the truth is known to only a few and one of them is dead.

Everytime you hear this story it’s different.  First they say the homeowner and his wife was in bed and was awakened by armed intruder and homeowner reached over into his nightstand and pulled out a gun of his own and shot the intruder in the head.  Now the homeowner and his wife are sitting there with their guns ready.  Which is it? What 67yo and 81yo is sitting up with guns ready at 3am in morning??  I knew this man and no he was not an angel, he had a drug problem, but was never arrested for a violent crime.  The worst he did was write fraudulent checks on his family’s accounts. That was what he was in jail for!!!!!!!And for all your information….he was arrested in Nebraska for going to the ER 3 times for GOUT while working in NE.

I think it’s great the homeowner stood his ground and shot the intruder. As a law-abiding gun owner and licensed concealed carry permit holder I would not hesitate to pull the trigger on anyone who broke into my home or threatened me in my vehicle. If more citizens were legally armed and willing to defend themselves, Mobile wouldn’t be in the top ten most violent places to live.

I think it’s great that the 81 year old gentleman defended himself.  Maybe this will take away the illusion that the elderly can’t take care of themselves.  Sometimes they can’t, and sometimes they can.  That’s something the cowardly criminals might just have to think about before they decide to rob them.

Stop depending on the Justice system…. If they come into your house issue the punishment yourself and shot them on the spot… The justice system is then left out of the picture and you can go about your way.

Depending on the screwed up “Criminal has more rights” justice system will get you nowhere.

The song you are talking about by Filter “Hey man, nice shot” is about taking pictures not shooting people.

If potential criminals knew beforehand that you would shoot them between the eyes if they messed with you, and they would DIE. Violent crimes would DEFINITELY go down.

Like the song says, “Hey man, nice shot.”

How is a man arrested 5 times in 12 months AND obviously arrested in Nebraska out on the streets.  This goes to show that our justice system allows criminals to rane the streets and submit citizens to their will.  Luckily for this armed citizen he will live another day.
