I went by there to check on him and there is an adoption pending for him.  But there is a waiting list for prospective families if that one doesn’t work out.

Does anyone know if the puppy ever found his forever home or if he’s still at the shelter?

wish i could take on another dog. i would take him and name him skip. i had a cat with three legs as a kid. the kitten almost didn’t make it untill i got a rabbit. he learned to hop like it. could run just about as fast as the other cats and dog. my dad would just shake his head when he would get home from work and see three cats a dog and a rabbit all in one pile sleeping on each other.

Sorry, BAMABOB for having a heart.

Interesting Sheli!  Learn something new everyday. I have never heard the term neutering used in reference to females.  Thanks for the info…

Hi rolltide33,

I understand your amusement, however the following quote is from the American Humane website.  Please note the last sentence.

“Spaying is a general term used to describe the ovariohysterectomy of a female animal. Neutering is a general term used to describe the castration of a male animal. However, neutering is used in reference to both genders.”

The link below is to their homepage:
http://www.americanhumane.org/protecting-animals/adoption-pet-care/care/spaying-neutering.html

I had a fun part-time job in Virginia a few years ago at a doggie daycare center.  All dogs had to be neutered before being allowed to play.  Neutering was a generic term used for male & female dogs, and I guess I just got used to using the word.

I’m not an animal activist, though I love my sheltie and a rescued border collie mix.  I can laugh at BamaBob’s joke and move on.

Have a good one and hope your team does well on the next game.

Sounds like we almost have a love connection!

JGFH,

I passed your concerns along to the Animal Shelter after calling the number myself and getting the same result.

Kimberly Stanley said she will address the situation with the Shelter’s director. In the meantime, she says you can call her at 574-3230

Thats rediculous.

I have been calling the animal shelter since 8:00 this morning to inquire about this puppy and all I keep getting is a recorded message telling me to press two to speak with someone and when I press two I got another message telling me that voice mail is full.  If they want these animals adopted out they need to invest in a better phone system and someone to actually answer the calls.
