An off-duty deputy fires shots as he tries to stop two teens from robbing his family, that's the word from The Mobile County Sheriff's Office. It happened at the Family Place Apartments on Michael Boulevard Sunday night. A sheriff's office spokesman says the deputy heard screaming and saw his family being robbed in the parking lot. When the deputy went outside, the sheriff's office says one of the teens pulled a gun. That's when the deputy fired shots. The teen took off, but the deputy was able to catch him. The teen was charged with robbery. The sheriff's office spokesman says the deputy acted properly, "He's okay, you know, it was bittersweet, he's glad that he was there. He's glad that he was able to get involved. He's glad that he was able to catch this guy. He's not so glad that his one year old son was in the arms of his fiance when she was being robbed and gun shots were being fired," said Mobile County Sheriff's Office Major, Chad Tucker. The sheriff's office has not released any names in the case yet. No one was hurt and authorities are still looking for the second suspect.
