Mobile County Sheriff's Deputies believe they may have solved dozens of car burglaries.
They arrested three juveniles who they believe are responsible for more than 50 car burglaries in both the City and County of Mobile.
Deputies said the juveniles confessed after they were caught trying to break into a home in Theodore.
Corporal Chris McLean with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office said, Wednesday morning, "youth investigators, along with patrol, were called out to a burglary in progress."
McLean said it was a house burglary in the area of Sharon Way in Theodore.
When deputies arrived, McLean said, "Neighbors pointed out three subjects that they observed breaking into the residence and they were taken into custody. Items that were recovered from the burglary include four guns, along with alcohol and other stolen items."
But that was just the beginning.
McLean said deputies said they interviewed the three juveniles and "they have confessed to at least fifty attempted auto burglaries at this point."
Deputies said four of the burglaries were in the Theodore area, but that the rest happened along streets like Windtree Road and Mallard Drive off Schillinger Road in the City of Mobile.
People who live along Sharon Way said they've been burglarized repeatedly.
Michael Venezia said, "Over the last three years, I've had three lawn mowers stolen each year. They just come in the backyard, take it, and they're gone."
Beverly Leonard said, last year, her two teenage daughters were coming home from school and walked in on a burglary.
Leonard said, "Someone had kicked in the back door. She (my daughter) said something had knocked over in the house and I think they (the burglars) were still in the house, and she just took off running."
One person we talked to along Windtree said she hadn't heard about the car burglaries, but, according to Yvette Clifton, "Kids nowadays need something to do in the summertime. There's too much time on their hands."
And how did the juveniles burglarize the cars?
Investigators said the owners left the doors unlocked.
Deputies remind you to always to lock your car door, even if you're just running a quick errand.

we would have a different story if I had caught these punks/thugs! breaking into my house, their parents would have some funerals to plan and these bleeding hearts could talk bad about me for awhile.I would not ask them if they were old enough to be tried as adults because they were armed, and if they don’t stop breaking the law they will eventually end up dead or in prison for taking someone’s life in the process of committing these crimes.YES I REALLY WOULD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is pretty sad to say that my parent’s flipped out way more than these “so called” friends of the thief’s if I got a speeding ticket. I mean really is it really just no big deal to go around robbing people, Armed I might add, not just once, oh no not twice, three, four, five, H**! Not even 20 times, but they at least attempted 50, and that is only what they are admitting to. I bet you anything that they have bragged to their friends about it. Gloating about how bad a** they are. When really they are just a bunch of punks taking advantage of us honest working people, most with families to support. SouthernBelle is right they are lucky that her husband was not home when they robbed them, they were willing to risk their lives to get a quick buck.

..u welcome…southernbelle6913…!!..lol…go..girl..!!...

Excuse me, keep my comments to myself?  Do you not realize you are on a PUBLIC forum???  Is there not such a thing as freedom of speech???  If these kids were sooo kind why are they stealing from others.  That is against both the law of the land and the law of the Bible.  In my opinion you’re just as sick and twisted as they are.  Yeah maybe you do live right next door to them, but your stuff wasn’t stolen was it?  Mine was. I dare say the only thing they have going for them is my husband was at work when it happened or else there probably would have been yet another story of some poor little criminal getting shot by a cop.  Let them think about that before they go out taking things that don’t belong to them.  As far as I am concerned I will not keep my opinions to myself and I applaud others like Kx, Seek, minimay, Great1 and dementfsu for their views on this subject.  Thanx guys!

,,,heard that…great1….lol….i don’t understand peoples,,parents,,now-a day..!!!.....lol

Keep our comments to ourselves?? You gotta be kidding. People like you that keep telling these little punks that they are good boys even though they are nothing more than thugs and creeps should be locked up with them. You are part of the problem

.....oh..ok….yep,,,i live off three notch rd,,,in robinwood subsivision,,,,,sad…this is..!!..will be watching more closer for anything to happened…my pet and other peoples pet were stolen last year ,,here..!!....

We neighbors on Sharon Way know that what the kid has done is not right or okay. But seriously people we have known the boy since he was little. We know why he did it. So unless you know the situation you should really keep your comments to yourself.

I use to live in Tillmans Corner too, with my mom and step-dad and they still live there as well. My mother is at home a lot by herself because my step-dad is in the National Guard and was already unsteady about being at home alone, so it is things like this that just makes the situation worse and makes me constantly worried about her. Your home is suppose to be a place where you feel safe and comfortable, but it is people like this that makes it impossible to feel safe any where.

..i live here in tillmans corner….this is really sad..!!!..
