Pickup Truck Flips, Driver Killed

Alabama Foley The passenger was thrown from the vehicle. Wreck happened on Cedar Street and County Road 24 in Foley.

One person is dead and another seriously injured after an accident at Cedar Street and County Road 24 in Foley.
The driver of the truck was killed. His passenger was thrown from the truck and seriously injured. He was air lifted to the hospital.
The driver of the other car was not injured.
State Troopers are investigating. The road remains blocked at this hour.

Our hearts go out to Russell Nelson’s family. His friends in Foley and Bon Secour will miss him dearly. Our friend Harry aka Skipper is still in the hospital in stable condition and our prayers are with him as well. It was a tragic accident and Russell will be missed by all.

Also, News 5 got it wrong. Harry aka Skipper was the driver and was the one airlifted to the hospital and Russell was the passenger.

I went to school with the man killed in this accident. Russell Nelson was well known in school. He had many friends/girl friends and was an all around nice guy. I pray for his family and friends. May you rest in peace Russell. May GOD bless you and your family. You will be missed!
