
"He became verbally aggressive and tried to gain entry into the home and he was shot," says Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack. "A person has a right to protect their property and protect their family."
Daniel has not been charged in the shooting. A Baldwin County grand jury will hear the case.
Buettner's wife, Paula, a Robertsdale school teacher, was not at the mobile home when her husband was killed...a tragedy Mack says could have been prevented.
"Cooler heads would have prevailed," says Mack. "Mr. Buettner went on a person's property and was verbally aggressive, had he not taken the actions he did that night, he'd be alive today."
