Dozens of workers from around Mobile spent a day outside instead of at the office. Today was the United Way's Annual Day of Caring. Volunteers from different businesses spent their workday working for others. Here you'll see employees of Mobile Memorial Gardens and the Airport Authority work on patio areas for the Via Senior Center on Dauphin Street. Organizers say these free efforts help beautify the center.“The patios are places where people come to relax and part of our mission and part of our mission is for health, fitness and enrichment so it give them a nice place to set, relax and socialize,” says Via Services Director Joan Rommes. The improved areas will help the center's adult daycare program. Organizers say they wouldn't be able to do it without volunteer help from the united way.
