Art lovers gathered for a special event Sunday, May 3rd on Dauphin Island. The local chamber of commerce held its second annual Dauphin Island Arts Festival. The event featured live music and more than 40 different art makers. Organizers say their goal is to spread an appreciation of art to people across the Gulf Coast."We want people to come out and enjoy the local artists we've got artists from the whole entire southern area, from Mississippi to Louisiana to Florida as well as Alabama,” says chairperson Lisa Hansen. Although organizers were happy with this year's turnout, they plan on having more vendors next year.
