In the council chambers of Daphne city hall, they gathered. "It's just the most exciting thing I have ever experienced in my life," says Rory Brown as she watched the inauguration of Barack Obama.
On the edge of their seat they waited for that first glimpse of the man who would be president.
"I've been emotional about this the whole time. I'm not particularly political, I think it's just a historical moment."
Through tears and cheers they witnessed history. Among the spectators Ann Fleming a mother who felt it was important she be here to witness history. "I'm here because of my son. I'm concerned for my children's children and I think this is a man who is a visionary that transcends race, it transcends culture, it transcends nationality and we become a human community."
In less than half an hour what some thought they would never see happen, became official. The dream is now reality.
