FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida - FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a couple from
Daphne has died in a boat accident in Florida.
Lt. Mark Hollinhead of the Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission said two boats collided shortly after 7:30
p.m. Friday. The 18-foot Bayliner and the 21-foot Sea Hunter each
had four people aboard at the time of the accident in
Choctawhatchee Bay near Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
William "Bill" Brenner of Daphne, who was operating the larger
boat, survived. But Hollinhead said Brenner's parents, George and
Donna Brenner, also of Daphne, and his aunt, Jeane Srowson of
Texas, all died.
Authorities said the occupants of the other boat were treated
for minor injuries.
Hollinhead said the cause of the accident is being investigated.

My condolences to the family and friends of this family.  I cannot imagine the pain that the son is going through at this time.  My sincerest hope is that “IF” the other boater was impaired with alcohol or drugs that he will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.  So often people feel they can handle their alcohol when they are on the water and often do not realize how much they have had to drink or whatever while they are boating.
