Update
According to Alabama State Troopers, Friday afternoon traffic was stopped on westbound I-10 for several hours involving a multi-vehicle crash that caused big headaches for rush hour commuters.

Troopers say 26-year old Astrid Collins was driving a Mitsubishi when she rear-ended a stopped tractor trailer. Troopers then say Collins got out of the car to check the damage when she was struck by another vehicle. That wreck then a caused a chain-reaction multi-vehicle accident that involved two other vehicles.

According to State Troopers, Collins was the only serious injury and was airlifted to Baptist Hospital.

Interstate 10 in Baldwin County looks like a parking lot. The westbound lanes at the Malbis exit are closed. Police say an 18 wheeler ran into another big rig. Orange juice has spilled all over the road. No word on injuries, but an air ambulance did land. Traffic is not moving at all. Some people have gotten out of their cars to walk around. The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Police say it could be closed until 7:00 p.m.

Loxley Police tell News 5 that they are also working to clear a five vehicle accident. No one seriously injured there.

Traffic on I-10 east is moving slowly because of on-looker traffic.

News 5 is live on the scene and will have full reports on News 5 at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

I was east bound on I-10 shortly after the accident.
The traffic was backed up to the tunnel.
I got off I-10, and went through spanish fort.
Got back on I-10 at the hwy 59 exit.
There was another crash at this exit as well.
It had west bound traffic backed up almost to the wilcox exit.
I was thinking the accident was east bound and was floored because the back up in the east bound lanes was caused by people rubber necking.
People need to pay more attention to driving and less time sightseeing and talking on the cell phone.
Pay attention people, it might save your life when you are driving.
