Alabama Mobile Almost 13 years after his death police have charged a suspect in the murder of Jawanzee Marquis Harris.

Almost 13 years after his death, police have charged a suspect in the murder of Jawanzee Marquis Harris. Mobile Police arrested 31-year-old Nathaniel Blanks Tuesday afternoon. Harris was shot and killed on October 14, 1996 in the 400 block of Morgan Street.

MPD spokesperson Cpl. Charles Bagsby says Eric Leonard Johnson was originally charged with Harris's death, but the charge was later dropped and the case dismissed. Bagsby says Blanks turned himself in to investigators.
