It's day six of a strike involving Coca Cola Bottlers. We found union employees picketing this morning in Tillman's Corner.
They are protesting Coca Cola's plan to take away their pensions.
Employees say the move from pension plans to 401-k would cost some of them thousands of dollars.. Teamsters are also on the picket lines in Robertsdale, Leroy and Vancleave, Mississippi. 270 union workers are being affected by the pension plan change.

After almost a week, there is still no resolution between the Teamsters union and Coca Cola.. Hear what the spokesman for the striking workers has to say.

It was the exact same proposal they offered the 1st time.  The only difference was they did not get a signing bonus with this one, but would have with the 1st one.

i absolutley agree.  i have been completely supportive of my husaband and as i said in an earlier post i would live in a tent if i had too.  and i have also tried to watch what i said just in case coke is reading this.  maybe not always but 90% of the time.  and the post….
that her husband is going to have to move out if he doesn’t get back to work b/c she’s not paying all the bills.
is what started me on this soap box anyway.

Freedom of speech is a good thing.  All I’m saying is make sure your freedom of speech is not shooting yourself in the foot. If you are part of a union, you have to not let on to corporate that you are “ready for your husband to get back to work” or that you are so lacking in information that you have to come on here to obtain it. All I’m saying is you should use discretion for your own good if you have something at stake here. Use the telephone and get information from reliable sources or if that is lacking, raise that concern with someone who can help you with that.  One person on here said that her husband is going to have to move out if he doesn’t get back to work b/c she’s not paying all the bills.  That’s an old post but the point is, it makes Coke have a better position for negotiating if Coke knows there is dissension or a bunch of wives who just want their husband back at work. There have also been many supportive posts and I think that’s great, I’m just saying, use discretion
