Mobile Police arrested Marlon Wade this afternoon. Authorities say he had over $24,000 dollars worth of Cocaine and a gun.
The 35 year old has been coaching youth baseball with the Saraland Baseball Association for the past six years. At the same time Police say he's run up a wrap sheet with 22 arrests, ranging from disorderly conduct to theft and assault.
The S.B.A. says they rely on the honor system because they can't afford to do background checks.
"It's expensive to do them, but that's not an excuse. We have 150 coaches in the baseball park. I talked to some independent agencies. It's 40 dollars per coach to do a background check, so you're talking about six thousand dollars. We don't get City funding,"Said Todd Edge, Commissioner for the Saraland Baseball Association.
The Saraland Baseball Association says they are permanently banning Marlon Wade from coaching with them. He's being held at Metro Jail without bond.
