Circuit City proves you can increase business with a liquidation sale. The problem is you can only do it once.

“[They] surprised me, they give all that money to them banks up north but couldn't give somebody like this nothing,” asks shopper Pete Reid. He says he was there looking for a nice TV for his dad. He’s one of dozens of people walking into this Mobile store looking for bargains, but coming out empty handed.

“Well, the TV's ain't dropped down good enough yet the video games are still not too high, they're just 10%, they're going to have to drop a little bit more to me,” says Reid. Others say it was worth the trip just to check it out.

“I mean with everything on sale they got some great prices though they're a little bit out of my price range, out of my price range, but I had to come see for myself though,” says shopper Joseph Stewart. While not everyone can find exactly what they're looking for today the people that have gone through the store say it's a bit crowded in there.

“And crazy,” says shopper Teri Capps. “People are people are grabbing stuff but it's only 10% off, I would like for it to come down a little bit more before I buy anything.” I wasn't allowed to take a camera in the store, and company officials didn't respond to calls and e-mails. According to the company's website warranties will still be valid. If you got a gift card for Christmas you should spend it soon, they'll have no value when the stores close for good.

They are marking up prices up to and past the MSRP, and then taking off 10%. Not a good deal at all. I’m waiting weeks, or months, for prices to appropriately drop to where they should be.
