ROBERTSDALE, Alabama - Florida smokers are driving to Alabama to stock up. Karen Biggs who manages a Robertsdale gas station says they've seen a big increase in sales since July when the Florida cigarette tax jumped from 34 cents a pack to a buck 34. We're told cartons are flying off store shelves, in fact, Biggs says they've had to increase their stock, "they just mention how much cheaper it is and they'll usually go back and add a few more packs or another carton," said Biggs.
