MOBILE, Alabama - Cool weather means a good start to Christmas tree sellers in Mobile. You probably won't have to pay more than last year. I talked to a few tree lot managers along Airport Boulevard today, 11/27/2009. They say prices are about the same as they were in 2008. The average tree could run you between $30 - $150 dollars depending on size and type. Managers say changes in other parts of the economy are stabilizing tree prices this year.

“The tree companies didn't go up on the prices the natural gas prices are down so fertilizer prices are a little less than they were and the freight rates are down,” says owner of Austill Christmas Trees Austill Crabree. Cool weather is also helping. Managers say lower temperatures remind buyers it’s the time of year to get a tree.
