Christmas came five days early for some local veterans. Former servicemen now living in the William F. Green Veterans Home were treated to a Christmas party Saturday. Complete with hot rods! The Gear Jammers Car Club of Pensacola has adopted the veterans home as a way to say thanks for their service in the military. The party included a cook-out, music and plenty of classic cars and, of course, Christmas presents! Organizer Bill McPherson says, "They're just excited about it as we are and we are really looking forward to it. We hope to export it to other veteran's homes in the area." According to McPherson, in addition to the party, the Gear Jammers brought over 350 books, which doubles the size of the veterans home library.
