17-year-old Jacboy Reed planned to hold up the Chevron Food Mart on Azalea Rad just before 3 a.m this morning, but those plans drastically changed.
The teen ran up to the counter demanding money. He tried to pull a gun out of his waistband, but a quick-acting employee was able to take the situation into his own hands and get the gun away from the would-be robber. Police say the teen ran into a wooded area across from the store. Officers started searching behind Mikato Japanese Steak House. They arrested Reed as he walked through a nearby parking lot. Reed was charged as an adult and faces First Degree Robbery charges and was booked into Mobile Metro Jail.

Don’t give em any ideas…It’s sad that he will spend the rest of his summer locked up for something stupid. If you wanted money for summer it’s called a job, Mickey D’s is right next door. Another question is what was he doing out at 3am? I’m grown and I’m not out that time of morning!

Whats really tragic is the 17 y/o or his family will probally take the store and the employee to court for assault.  Also groups will start petitioning to have him charged as a minor not an adult.  Adult crime, adult jail time.

This is starting to get too close to home, am I gonna need a house sitter while I go to work ? There was also a home invasion in this same block not even 4 hrs after this idiot and it was right across the walkway from me!
