17-year-old Jacboy Reed planned to hold up the Chevron Food Mart on Azalea Rad just before 3 a.m this morning, but those plans drastically changed. The teen ran up to the counter demanding money. He tried to pull a gun out of his waistband, but a quick-acting employee was able to take the situation into his own hands and get the gun away from the would-be robber. Police say the teen ran into a wooded area across from the store. Officers started searching behind Mikato Japanese Steak House. They arrested Reed as he walked through a nearby parking lot. Reed was charged as an adult and faces First Degree Robbery charges and was booked into Mobile Metro Jail.
