Mobile police say they pulled over 36-year-old Marcine Jackson around Noon at Lafayette and Hogan Street. As the officer approached the car, police say Jackson hit the gas and took off.

During the chase, police say Jackson drove into oncoming traffic. It ended when Jackson hit another car at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King and Carstens Street.

Shontrell Burke, Adrian Marks, and Marks' 2-year-old daughter Alasia, were in the car that was hit. All three were taken to USA Medical Center where Alasia was pronounced dead. Burke was released around 6:00 p.m. Marks, who is pregnant, is still in the hospital.

Jackson is charged with murder, two counts of assault, felony attempting to elude police and possession of a controlled substance.

I think we all know who is responsible for the death of this baby and why it occurred. And this would be a good time to stress the need to see that all children are properly restrained while in your vehicles. It scares me to no end to see a car going down the road with a toddler standing up in the drivers arms.It doesn’t take much fore thought to imagine what might happen and yet it happens. It might not apply to this case but many more times it could save a life of a baby.Tragedy comes in all colors and locations and none are immune.

Hope you enjoyed your fantasy. Now maybe someone should call for the padded room.

Not in the shallow end anymore are you? Get your floaties, dude.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, be quiet.  Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, come a little closer…... Ummmmmmm

Camille was before my time.

OK. Do you care to clarify that?

August winds blew hard and strong the year I asked you to remember me.

That was way intelligent.
