IRVINGTON, Alabama - An Irvington woman ends up undergoing surgery after State Troopers say she ran head-on into an 18-wheeler.

According to State Troopers, 40-year-old Kimberly Collier was headed west on Highway 188 in Irvington around 9:00 Monday morning. For some unknown reason, her 2001 Nissan Maxima swerved into oncoming traffic and slammed into a tractor trailer.

Collier was transported by Life Flight to USA Medical Center where she underwent surgery. State Troopers do not know just how badly she was injured.

The driver of the big rig suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mobile Infirmary West.
