SPANISH FORT, Alabama - Family and friends are pulling together to help a Baldwin county man fighting cancer. Chris Brown is suffering from leukemia. Today, 9/26/09, his friends and family threw a benefit for him at Felix's Fish Camp. They're trying to raise money to help offset $500,000 in medical bills. Organizers prepared food and auctioned artwork to help raise money. Family members say it's the least they could do for Chris.“Well we felt like this was our best way to get our friends together to come out and to help him to take care of expenses he's incurred over the last year,” says Aunt Phyllis Johnson. Organizers say they hope to raise $20,000 with Saturday’s benefit. Chris was too sick to attend. To find out more about Chris Brown, you can go here. For information on donations you can go here.
