BAY MINETTE, Alabama - For the third time in less than five months, capital murder suspect Eric Buzbee faces a jury. Buzbee, accused of robbing and killing Spanish Fort businessman Bobby Wilson in 2007, showed no emotion as attorneys presented opening statements Thursday. Two previous trials ended in mistrial.

Both the prosecution and the defense appeared more polished and confident as they presented opening statements to a jury for the third time.

"We're ready, we're confident in our case as we have been all along, we're glad that it's underway, we've learned through conversations with jurors and we're just glad this day is here, we know the family is first and foremost and we're confident and ready to get started," says Michael Pylant, Baldwin County Asst. District Attorney."

"We're 100 percent confident Eric Buzbee will be exonerated and will be found not guilty," says defense attorney John Beck. "Eric will go home."

Opening statements wrapped up around three o'clock Thursday. Prosecutors called their first witness after that...one of about 100 witnesses. The trial could last a month.

Hopefully there will be a verdict this time.  Jury, either find him guilty or innocent.  Let’s put and end to this once and for all so that both families can move on.
