
But on this day, those who loved them most held vigil to remember their angels.
One calendar year has passed but the pain still feels like yesterday. Kam Phengsisomboun says the children's mother has been preparing to deal with the first anniversary that changed her life forever. "She sit up all night and prayed for the kids."
At first light on Wednesday, Kieu Phan braved the cold and the wind to remember her four young children. Through her tears and broken English, Kieu tries to explain the pain. "Yeah, I miss my babies. No, it not easy. One year ago exactly."
On the morning of January 7th 2008, authorities believe the children's father, Lam Luong, drove the kids to the top of the bridge and tossed them into the water. It took rescue crews two weeks to recover their tiny bodies. Danny and Ryan were discovered in Alabama waters. Lindsey's body was recovered in Mississippi and Hannah's body was plucked from the water in Louisiana."
All four were buried side by side in the bayou cemetery and it's here that the memories come back to their heartbroken mother. "I want my baby in heaven and want baby come home."
Lam Luong is charged with multiple counts of capital murder. His trial is set to start March 9, 2009.
