One year ago, our entire community was stunned to learn that four young children were tossed off the Dauphin Island Bridge. Who can forget the sweet faces of 3-year old Ryan, 2-year old Hannah, 1-year old Lindsey and 4-month old Danny. Their father is charged with the unthinkable crime.

But on this day, those who loved them most held vigil to remember their angels.

One calendar year has passed but the pain still feels like yesterday. Kam Phengsisomboun says the children's mother has been preparing to deal with the first anniversary that changed her life forever. "She sit up all night and prayed for the kids."

At first light on Wednesday, Kieu Phan braved the cold and the wind to remember her four young children. Through her tears and broken English, Kieu tries to explain the pain. "Yeah, I miss my babies. No, it not easy. One year ago exactly."

On the morning of January 7th 2008, authorities believe the children's father, Lam Luong, drove the kids to the top of the bridge and tossed them into the water. It took rescue crews two weeks to recover their tiny bodies. Danny and Ryan were discovered in Alabama waters. Lindsey's body was recovered in Mississippi and Hannah's body was plucked from the water in Louisiana."

All four were buried side by side in the bayou cemetery and it's here that the memories come back to their heartbroken mother. "I want my baby in heaven and want baby come home."

Lam Luong is charged with multiple counts of capital murder. His trial is set to start March 9, 2009.

soooo sad but i hope she knows the everyone hurts for her,we all there for her and just know those sweet babies in heven just waiting on mom.so try and be stong cause they watching you may you find a little peace,i know its hard, but we all feel your pain ,may god bless you and keep you.

She is such a strong and brave young woman.  The worst thing in this world has happened to her four times over and her grief has been captured for the whole world to see.  I cannot imagine the hell this woman has endured but she has done it with such grace.  I do not know if I would have been able to have been so graceful to all the media coverage during this horrible time in my life.

God Bless her and her 4 little angels.  I do not think that there is a person who has read, heard or followed this story who will not forever be moved and touched by it.  I know I think of these 4 little angels frequently.

This was so hard to watch. I cried for her. It has been 13½ years since my son died. Life will never be the same for me or the mothers who have lost children.

Bless her heart.  So sad.  They say it gets easier but I lost my 18 year old daughter a year and a half ago and everyday I have to tell myself she isn’t coming home.  It will always live with you.  Such a senseless act.  I hope she can find some peace, someday.
