The water near the Dauphin Island Bridge will never be the same for Captain Paul Stewart, who lead the effort to find the bodies of four children thrown from the Dauphin Island Bridge.

"It was the first thing I thought of this morning and many other mornings," says Stewart of the Mobile County Sheriff's Office Flotilla.

Wednesday marked one year since investigators believe Lam Luong tossed his children off the bridge out of revenge against his wife. The Flotilla was one of 21 agencies who searched tirelessly for 4 month old Danny, 1 year old Lindsey, 2 year old Hannah and 3 year old Ryan.

"At the end of the day when I was tired and worn out, people came to me and said what are we doing tomorrow? There was never ever any inkling that anyone wanted to quit," says Stewart.

The initial command post was set up in Cedar Point at the foot of the bridge, but it was moved to Bayou La Batre after the body of Danny was found in Point Aux Pins and Ryan was found in Bayou La Fourche Bay.

"The first body had moved so far to the west and the 2nd body was found to the west. We immediately moved the command post," remembers Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran, who lead the search and delivered the news as each recovery was made.

Lindsey's body was discovered third in North Rigolets Bayou, and the final announcement came January 20th when a Coast Guard crew pulled Hannah's body from the water off the shore of Venice, Louisiana.

Investigators say Luong, who is charged with capital murder, confessed to throwing the kids off the bridge. He is scheduled to go to trial in March.
