You have the chance to give the gift of life and you can do it in memory of four children who police say were thrown off the Dauphin Island Bridge by their father. The Bayou La Batre Area Chamber of Commerce wants to show its appreciation to all the communities that pulled together after police say little Hannah, Ryan, Lindsey, and Danny were thrown from the bridge. That's why the chamber is teaming up with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers to hold a blood drive in memory of the children. We talked with the children's uncle who says the family also wants to say thank you to everyone who helped out during the bridge tragedy," the family really like happy to hear things like this happening in the community and you know we appreciate everybody that you know involved in this. I mean, don't have to be the blood drive, it can be anything, the family would appreciate it, you know, I know, we have, y'all haven't heard from me or the family in a while, I mean we've been, we try to get our life back together," said the children's uncle, Kam Phengsisomboun. The blood drive will take place Thursday, February 28th, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the banquet room of the Bayou La Batre Community Center.

Steve, WKRG did so great a jpb keeping us and the community informed…..and you especially. I’ll be there at 6 or 6:15! Won’t be as cold as in the marsh when we were searching! Kiev, we love you and our bayou babies….to save a life in their memory is something we can all do and give back to those who gave so much toward bringing our cultures together in love and as one.
