Family and friend's gathered at the Bay Community Church in Malbis to celebrate the life of Brianna Parish. The 21-year-old went missing Novemember 11th. Her body was found Friday at a sewage treatment plant in Daphne.
Before the service, Bruce Parish, Brianna's father, read this brief statement.
"We would like to express our profound gratitude to all those people, organizations and business that have supported and aided our family in this very difficult time. We would also like to think the amazing number of friends, family and strangers who cam and expressed their love for Bri and our family last night.
We were truly overwhelmed by the sheer number of people who came and sincerely apologize to anyone who was unable to stay due to this outpouring.
We knew Bri was a very special young woman, but learned from many of you that she is even more special than we ever imagined. We know that in spirit Bri was there with us and felt all this love too.
We unfortunately live in a very dark world that knows no bounds. It was this darkness that has taken Bri from us all and with her a very bright light that has left a much darker place.
Now we go to celebrate the amazing life of this wonderful woman that was our daughter and our sister, Brianna Parish. Thank you everybody."
Daphne police have named a person of interest in this case. Troy MacDonald was the last person seen with Parish before she vanished from the Bay House Pub.
